can you glue ribbon to fabric?
im trying to make a halloween costume, so can i glue ribbon to a hoodie with “tacky glue”? that craft glue in the metallic gold bottle? will the ribbon stay in tact or will it easily peel off?

It won’t peel easily. Aleene’s Tacky Glue (I think that’s the one you mean) does not launder well. If you need this to be washable, get a different glue quickly. If you want it to be easily removable without a trace after Halloween, use thread. Tack it on with semi-long stitches. It’ll stay put well, and will come off easily.

The tacky glue will probably hold it well enough for a Halloween costume. Though I’m not sure if will hold up to the washing machine. Sometimes the label on the glue bottle will help you figure that out. If it says its washable after it dries, it should be pretty durable.
Yes, you can use most glues for sticking ribbon to fabrics except if the fabric is very “fuzzy”, then it doesn’t stick at all.
Some times the glue is rather permenant and sometimes not. Some times it stains the fabric you put it on when you would rather it not be permanent.
Read the label on your glue and see if it is permanent on knit fabrics. It will say fabrics in the what it works on if it is permanent.
