Can someone please provide a short list of scrapbooking-only stores in the south suburbs?
I’m in Evergreen Park and I’m sick of traveling all the way to Downers Grove to go to an all scrapbook store. Is there any closer places I don’t know about? I know there is one in Oak Lawn called A Scrapbookers’ Legacy, but they recently closed down for good. I want to maybe take some classes, but don’t want to travel too far to take them. Thanks for your help fellow scrapbookers!!!

I am not sure where you live but have you looked into your local craft stores? Joann Fabrics, Michaels, and AC Moore all have great scrapbook departments and also offer classes. If there is a specific brand you like…try googling them online and ask them for a list of stores where their product is sold.
Also..If you an interested in taking a class..check out your local school district. During the summer some of the districts offer what’s called Adult Education Programs where for 6-8 weeks you can take classes about various hobbies and such. Our school district offers a scrapbook class on wednesday’s…and what great luck…they also offer a photography course on Mondays. these programs are usualy very inexpensive and taught by professionals.
Good Luck!!
Archivers’ has locations in Orland Park and Naperville, if either of those is more convenient than Downers. I know it’s not ‘scrapbook-only’ but there’s a huge new JoAnn’s ETC in the same strip mall with the Orland Archivers’, so the trip would be sort of a ‘two-fer’. The Scrapbook Barn in Mokena is probably farther than you’d want to go.

This site lists a couple of other stores in Orland, as well as one in Oak Forest.

If you’re looking more for classes than specifically stores, you may want to consider park district or adult ed classes, as well as independent teachers, if anyone knows of any in the Chicago south suburbs. Hope this helps. Good luck.
