Can I use wood glue to put up a poster outside?
Okay I want to put up a few little posters up in my neighborhood (an artistic endeavor). So I was wondering.. can I use wood (white craft) glue to put them up?
I’m not patient enough to make that cornflour adhesive.. Is wood glue strong enough?
They would only really need to be temporary, all I want them to do is stick..

You don’t mention what kind of material (and shape) you want to stick them to, and that would make a huge difference. You also don’t say how long you want the adhesive to last, and how easy it should be to remove later (and you’ll definitely need to remove them all when you’re done, as well as not using anything belonging to someone else as your hanging place or you could be cited).
Liquid glues would not usually be very good because they take a long time to dry and during that time won’t hold the posters in place, and also they’re usually permanent (“wood glue” is basically just a permanent “white glue” that’s yellow). They also won’t stick well to materials that aren’t porous.
Other glues may be tackier or stronger and even work on non-porous surfaces, but again would be hard to remove or remove without damaging the surface they’re attached to.
(Cornstarch and other biological glues will be even less strong, except egg white and that would be a b*** to get off as well as not holding immediately.)
Most people who temporarily put up posters outdoors use mechanical things like staples, nails, etc. And if it won’t rain and won’t need to last and won’t get much stress from wind/etc, sometimes sticky gums like BlueTac or glue dots or putty-type caulking, etc, or strong tapes like duct tape, can be used.
