Can anyone tell me what is the best scrapbook magazine and some good books about scrapbooking how tos.?
I am new to scrapbooking and there are so many informative books and magazines out on the market, but I do not which ones would benefit me the most. Is scrapbooking for dummies any good?

As far as magazines…look through several to see if the style of scrapbooking they highlight mesh with your scrapbooking style…then go with that! But don’t feel as if you need to scrapbook “just like the magazine”…or duplicate other peoples’ layouts…it’s YOUR scrapbook, so it should go with YOUR style.
There are a number of magazines out there. Usually when giving a magazine subscription as a gift I either give simple scrapbooks or creating keepsakes. As for books to get you started I highly recommend Stacy Julian’s “Big Picture Scrapbooking.” Fabulous book and it will get you started so that you NEVER feel like you are behind. Welcome to paper obsession.
Creating Keepsakes Magazine is a good starting point. They profile the top designers and products as well. They also publish idea books not only for scrap-booking but for cards as well.

“LASTING MOMENTS” Magazine by Creative Memories! The reason it’s a good one is that you can find the supplies you need to do the projects from a CM consultant who not only sells you the items, but shows you how to use them. There is probably a consultant in your town who’d be glad to help you learn how to scrapbook and has workshops where you can join others who share this hobby. Many other magazines are good but then you have to hunt around for the papers or tools they used to create the ideas. This magazine gives ideas for using products that are easily gotten online at the http://www.creativememories.com site or from a consultant (ie http://www.mycmsite.com/smichel).

I like Better Homes and Gardens Scrapbook etc. magazine. I think it’s got the most bang for the buck. My fave book is The Kodak Book of Fast and Easy Scrapbook pages. It is great. I have bought many and I like it the best.
