Can anyone recommend a good site to find fabric for sewing and crafting?

If not online, maybe some good magazines. I need resources. Should I Google? What would I search for?

The place where I buy most of my fabric is ebay. Be careful with shipping charges; some charge a fortune and I never buy from them. I particularly like Japanese fabric and buy it exclusively from http://stores.ebay.com/Debsews-Fabrics
She has very reasonably priced fabric and and fast shipping from Hawaii.

JoAnn Fabrics and crafts has a website. Never have gone there, but I do buy most of my fabric from the retail store near me. Prices are good and good selection.

also try http://www.jjstitches.com if you are looking for quiltling supplies and fabric. It’s considered the best fabric shop in Wisconsin. They also carry patterns other than quilting.

    Good luck in your search.

There are lots of good online fabric stores. Here are a few I’ve had good experiences with:

    http://www.keepsakequilting.com/
    http://www.fashionfabricsclub.com/
    http://www.candlelightvalleyfabrics.com/
    http://www.emmaonesock.com/

I find that I get the best results, when it comes to finding fabric with search engines, with more detailed queries. That is, “paisley rayon yardage” or “charcoal gray wool flannel yardage” gets better results than “fabric.” Using the word “yardage” will keep you from slogging through pages of ready-to-wear clothing.

Threads magazine has a list of advertisers — they tend to be more high end, but some of the “bargain” sites also advertise:

For finding a particular fabric, Clusty is a better search engine than google or yahoo in my opinion, because it categorizes the search results into groups.

Try searching for >> silk charmeuse

I personally like Joann.com as they show the material the amount the colors the price and in some instances they give you a discount and on some occasions they will ship for free. Browse the site and you will see what I mean.
