Can anyone give me an idiot’s guide to resin for arts and crafts?
I’ve been trawling through a lot of arts and crafts websites, and saw a lot of cool jewelery and things made with resin. Would anyone be able to give me or direct me towards a tutorial on this stuff, as I know absolutely nothing about it. These sites were pretty lacking on this information, everyone already seemed to know how to use it, etc They kept making reference to sanders and rotarys and such also – do I need any special equipment to work with resin? Most of these sites were american, and the users said they got they got most of their supplies from Hobbycraft and other chain stores. What shops in Ireland, or on the web, would be able to supply me with what I need?
Cheers!

You should be able to get resin at your local hardware or do-it-yourself store. It usually comes in a kit, with the two liquids you mix. There is a chemical reaction when the two liquids are mixed, which causes it to harden. You can use it in molds, etc. Most kits will explain how to use the resin, etc. Some people use rotary tools to shape the resin and sanders to polish the finished product.
