Arts & Crafts Ideas for Children and Teenagers?

Hello! I have just been hired as Arts & Crafts Director of a camp and I will be in charge of crafts activities for children aged 6-16.

I need some interesting Arts & Crafts ideas for the kids. I have some ideas of my own and can repeat the ones we did last year when I was assistant, but new ones or information where I could get some ideas for new ones would be appreciated.

My supplies are almost completely unlimited…we do everything from Popsicle stick houses to ceramics to oil paintings on canvas.

Teenagers seem to be into jewelry making these days and hand tied bracelets and anklets are part of the trend. Google ” macrame bracelets” and see what turns up. Also origami is another good one for pre teens.

I do origami with kids that are 6 and up. There’s a kazillion things you can make with paper: choose wisely so kids don’t get bored (paper airplanes, kites, make waterbombs etc)

Plaster of Paris molds. A base is a plastic lid or dish with vaseline coating. Make a smooth top and press in a leaf or weed of interest. Place an ant on the finished craft and it will go the the stem hollow to hide as if it was real thing.
