Cookie cutter magnets. Take sculpty or the crayola molding stuff(comes in buckets and pouches kind of foam feeling when dried) roll it out, cut it with cookie cutters and decorate. Get a pack of magnets and hot glue it on the back. There are also recipes for ornaments that smell really good, you make them out of applesauce and spices, but are really great as magnets or to hang on pantry doors in the kitchen. I want to take the girls to make memory plates at a local ceramic shop. You can usually get all that stuff at your local hobby store too, but not quite as durable. You can also make felt magnets usuing cookie cutters to draw out the shapes. Have her paint a memory box. You can get plain white or brown boxes at the craft store, just cover with a flat white paint and let her color on it with marker. Some have picture windows in them. You can have her paint the box, stick a picture of her in it and it makes a great way to give candy or gift to Grandma.

Coffee filter flowers and butterflies are fun to make. Just take the white filter and flatten it out a bit, then have you child water color it. When it’s dry, gather it in the middle and attach a green pipe cleaner for a flower or gather across like a bow tie and use a clothes pin for the body of a butterfly.

You’ve received some great info and there are some great ideas to be found on the web. I just wanted to share this… Do you have an IKEA near you? Santa brought our son this for Christmas (he’s almost 4), along w/ the paint, markers, and chalk, and we let him paint when he wants. It’s his favorite thing (and it was only $25!!!).http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/produc…
They also have some very large, colored frames for around $7-8. We have been framing his art work and hanging it in his room. He LOVES it, it looks great, and is very inexpensive.
