Arts and crafts for teens?

I don’t have much of a social life anymore.
And I’m short of stable.
I need things to keep my mind occupied.
And I want to make things!

Any ideas?

3d decoupage is good for occupying the mind.

    So is counted cross stitch.

Easy to learn very relaxing and you forget everything while stitching.

I I love making POP UP CARDS, and my favorite craft books are The Michael’s book of arts and crafts, and Michael’s book of paper crafts. I tried tie dying a lot but they all turned out badly so I TIE DIE WITH BLEACH, go to http://www.pburch.net/dyeing/FAQ/dark.shtml , I also love to PAINT ROCKS with all sorts of designs, I love making PURSES out of everything: jeans, shirts, duct tape, anything. DUCT TAPE WALLETS are great, go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ddWdWPWZKs&feature=related

p.s. I was always bored like you and so I joined a girls scout troop, It’s SOOOOO much fun you should join one too (or a boy scout troop)

First, you might want to check out this previous question that talks about some ways to figure out what you might be interested in to pursue as a hobby/craft:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiLcvLJE3N9fOMRDQxJ2N6jsy6IX?qid=20061215084652AAaHu8b (look down for *my* answer especially)

Secondly, you might want to check out the whole craftster.org website. There are many forums there on many different crafts and just “making” all kinds of things. Here’s a page that shows some of the items that have been made in each main topic board over the last year just to give you some ideas of what each has:
    http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=bestof2008
To actually go to any of the boards at craftster.org though, use this page (scroll down past the pics to the list):
    http://www.craftster.org/forum

I think you’ll find at that site (as well as many other sites having to do with art and/or craft, that many readers are also “short of stable.” That’s often less a problem online though than in real life, though being around theater or any of the “arts” (and often crafts) is also quite accepting since many artistic folks are like that :-) .

Lastly, you might also be interested in polymer clay.
I say that because there are so many entirely different things that can be done with it (and in any styles/sizes/uses/etc) that most clayers never get bored with it or tired of it, but also because I have a humongous polymer clay “encyclopedia” website that can give you all the info you’d need on any aspect of polymer clay right on your computer at home 24/7 (free, of course).

Check out the Table of Contents page for the site just to get a general idea of all the things that can be done with polymer clay, and which pages they would be covered on at my site:
    http://glassattic.com/polymer/contents.htm
…to actually go to any page you see listed, click on it from inside the alphabetical navigation bar on the left using the first letter of the page’s name

    HTH,

    Diane B.
