Are there rules regarding selling food in craft shows?

I would like to start a small business selling banana/zucchini/pumpkin breads. I have no experience with craft shows. Do you think there is a market for this type of booth?

    Hi,
It all depends on the state you live in. You would have to check with your local health department and find out what the rules are for selling food or baked goods. If it’s just a voluntary “bake sale” I think you are ok. But since you are doing a booth, you may need a special license.

Just check what your state’s rules are. Some are VERY lax, and you don’t need anything.
    Good luck!

The craft fairs I have gone to have specific food vendors and no one is allowed to compete with them unless they have been approved. Check with the sponsor of the event – licensing rules are getting stricter all the time.
