Anybody have ideas for summer camp arts and crafts?

The kids are between the ages of 7 and 13. We don’t have electricity, so glue guns are out.

Have you seen Martha Stewart’s – carry bag made from a T shirt – It would be a cute thing to take home from Camp – especially if it was a Camp logo shirt. Check out her web site under crafts.

Try these two sites – both have tons of crafts for kids to make, the second one also has activities, songs, worksheets, and games (and links to lots of other similar sites.)

check out familyfun.com. They have all sorts of different craft ideas based on age. I would give you some of my own ideas, but if you check out the site, you can find things that YOU like and that would work for you. Have fun!

Have you thought about rocket racing on a string between two trees or poles?
Use a paper towel tube or toilet paper tube and tape or glue a drinking straw on it length ways. Make a little paper or cardboard cone to tape or glue on the front end. Decorate it for fun and or competition and or just for fun! Now the part I didn’t tell you!
Blow up a balloon and tape that to the tube and run a long, long string into the straw and tie both ends to some sort of support. (tree, or Pole). when you let go of the balloon , the air will rush out and chase down the string! Then the race will be fun!!
