Any ideas for craft project to make with an american flag theme? Kind of easy for 7 & 8 year olds….?
It is a craft project for my daughters brownie troop. We are working on a badge about the flag..and suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

CRAFT STICK FLAG
This is a simple-to-make US flag made from craft sticks. Since this tiny flag does not have the correct number of stars and stripes, explain to the children that the real US flag has 13 red and white stripes (that represent the original 13 colonies) and 50 stars (that represent the 50 US states).
Supplies needed: 9 craft sticks
Red and white acrylic paint
Brushes
Blue construction paper
Glue
Either white paper or a white gel pen

Hope this helps. Have fun!
A scrapbook is another idea. You can make the project simple (6 pages), or more elaborate. Pictures of different flags around town would make a good book. The lyrics to our National Anthem, the meaning of the flag to the children, the history of the flag are all possible ideas for journaling on the pages. This project can be done with fairly inexpensive supplies:
1. small scrapbook ( 6×6 ) You can also make your own by folding scrapbook paper and binding it, or by punching holes and tying ribbon to hold pages together.
2. red, white, blue cardstock. Buy in bulk packages to save $$. All large arts&crafts stores carry these packages – ‘primary’ colors.
3. photo mounting squares. Pkge. of 250 – about $3.
4. scissors and markers
how about safety pin flags???
try this site.. hope it works. it not that hard to explain to kids, i’ve seen my 5 year old sister and her friends do this for their daisy troop. it was cute and they all had fun. hope it works out for you.
