Make what you’re good at, take a picture of it, and put it on ebay.
If you are going to be selling online on sites such as ebay.com and etsy.com then you’ll want to try to offer things that appeal to a large group of people and things that are inexpensive to ship, as shipping costs will kill you if you tend to undercharge in that area, and also may cause a lot of people to not bid on your items.
If you like making jewelry already, I would say go with that as maybe your main product, since that is always a popular thing with people. Make up several small items that represent your other interests (woodwork, etched glass, flower pens) and sell those in limited quanity also so you have a nice mix of items. An inexpensive and fun jewelry product is bracelets. You can make them for adults as well as for children. Maybe personalize them by putting letter beads to make up the customers names and then adding additional acrylic or glass beads that are colors that correspond to their birth month colors. For items like that, I would offer them at a low, Buy-it-Now, price. A larger quantity of sales, rather than just a few here and there, is what is going to make you a profit with that kind of product, so keep your prices attractive. The good thing about doing something that is personalized is that you don’t have to waste your money and supplies ahead of time – you only make one up to send out after it shows the customer paid already and has sent you the correct spelling of the name and indicated birth month color. You can also probaby offer your etched mirrors personalized with customers names too as well as names cut out of wood or painted with names on them.
I hope this was helpful to you and good luck!
