    Also, you could

For your newsletter, you could list some internet links like they do in women’s magazines such as:
    http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1218.The_Next_Best_Book_Club
    http://bookgroupbuzz.booklistonline.com
    etc.

Look up your local Borders or Barnes and Noble and list any upcoming events they are hosting such as:

http://www.creativity-portal.com is a very good site that incorporates both reading & crafts.

besides bookmarks, you can also make puppets of characters from a book you’ve just read. Each person can be assigned one character. You can make marionettes, etc. & then you can all get together to “stage a play” – a kind of review of the book. To make it more fun, how about changing the style? eg. for a serious book, make a humorous puppet/play. for a period drama, make a modern or futuristic scenario. and so on. Be Creative & wild :-) )

you could also look to make origami models of particular things in the book. eg. if there is an airplane or flowers, try to make origami models of them. you could also try to create a kind of backdrop with these.

just as one makes a nativity scene during X’mas, choose any one scene/scenario from the book & make/recreate a model of it.

write a poem, limerick, review, etc. of the book. convert it into a competition for more fun & motivation.

    hold a poetry-reading or book-reading marathon.

make book covers, dust covers, etc. Adorn/decorate…

    teach/learn book-binding

let each member come up with a unique character [human, animal, plant, fantasy, ...]. then, try to build a story using All these characters !

have a word- or sentence-a-week contest. give out one or more words or a sentence & contestants/participants have to create a story out of these. you can choose a particular genre or leave it open.

create crosswords, word search & other such puzzles from the latest book you’ve read.
these sites let you make your own crossword puzzles :
    http://www.crosswordpuzzlegames.com/crea...
    http://www.edhelper.com/crossword.htm
    http://www.crossword-compiler.com/

you can incorporate instructions to many of the above in your newsletter too.

    hope these help
all the very best & enjoy :-) )
