Arts and crafts. Also try JoAnn.com Another suggestion call Staples, and stores that may be selling the type of machine you want. Check and see if they are able to tansfer pictures to paper. Aks if they have ever tried to do it on cloth and all they can say is yes or no and If they say yes, you know where to go. If they say no, ask them if they would be willing to give it a try. You could tape the material to a cardboard to make sure the cloth would not slip. Please let me know how you make out.
The library does this for you, all you need is your picture and the fabric, you can get the printable fabric at just about any quilt store or on line at most quilt sites or on e-bay…
Hope this helps

I don’t know about most of it. But you can buy iron on transfers that are paper. The paper is placed into your printer just like regular paper and your image is printed on this special paper. Then you just iron it onto the material that you like using what ever kind of material you prefer. You can even make your own design and not have to use the printer or your computer. After hand drawing the design, just iron it to your chosen fabric.. You can get this stuff at a decent price in all craft departments at places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, & Walmart. Just follow instructions on the package.. This paper could save you some money and you wouldn’t have to buy a special machine, just use your printer.
Good Luck!!
Laura,
Your best bet is actually going to an office supply outlet like OfficeMax or Office Depot and asking if they can special order you a printer that prints on muslin or other similar fabrics. They’re out there, and they aren’t that difficult to find.
The one disadvantage? They’re expensive. It’s usually best to look in the yellow pages for someone in your area, or a couple of days snail mail away, who specializes in printing designs on fabric.
The third option is calling photo studios for photo transfer advice. This is your easiest, and unfortunately messiest, option. You get bottles of special emulsion, usually at Michael’s or sometimes Wal-mart, coat your chosen fabric, lay on your photo, and make sure that it’s firmly rolled to remove air bubbles. Wait the instructed time frame, peel off the original photo and voila, you’ve got a picture on fabric.
You’ll want to get photocopies of your original photos if you’d rather keep them, since the process will ruin them most of the time. It’s wise to consult an expert at a quilt shop, you’re bound to have at least one in your town, before you proceed.
Sincerely,
Petra
Buy Photo Fabric at any fabric store & print your own pictures with your ink jet printer !!!all you have to do is scan the photo in to your computer & print on the photo fabric Just as you would if it was paper. They are permenent & come out very vivid if the photo is of good quality.I have made 2 bed size quilts like this & they both have turned out beautiful. Visit me at ruthsquiltingstudio.zoomshare. com for pictures.
Are you talking about an embroidery machine? Or a special printer? Check out local specialty stores (fabric stores, quilting stores) and ask them to point you in the right direction. If they don’t have the machine or offer the service, they can probably tell you who does.
just purchase some iron on paper, print out your pics on that, iron it on some fabric and then make the quilt.
